Hello, my friends!
Hope everyone is well can you believe we’re at the end of summertime it goes so fast I feel like we’ve just started. The Sailing Home Bundle is one of my favorites the stamp set has such beautiful nautical images to create any type of card or project and I love how stampin’ Up! always has such wonderful coordinating products the Sailing Home Stamp set coordinates with the Smooth Sailing Dies for a beautiful pairing. Today’s card I added a little texture using our embossing paste and the Brick texture decorative mask. I know it looks nothing of the sea but thought it added some really cool texture.
The card base is Whisper White card stock measuring 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″, the next layer is Smoky Slate card stock measuring 5 1/4″ x 4″, the top layer of Whisper White card stock measures 5 1/4″ x 3″. You will need a scrap piece of Vellum as well as scrap pieces of Whisper White and Smoky Slate card stock.
The first thing I did was take the white embossing paste and mix a drop of Smoky Slate ink refiller, mix together well using your palette knife. I then placed the decorative mask on an angle over the whisper of white card stock measuring 5 1/4″ x 3″ applied the colored paste gently lift away and let dry.
While your paste is drying I then stamped the lighthouse on Smoky Slate card stock with Smoky Slate ink. Now from the Smooth Sailing Dies I used the coordinating lighthouse to cut out of the image. Now use the 2 1/4″circle punch and punched out a circle a Vellum. I then used the 1 1/2″ circle punch to punch out the circle of Smoky Slate card stock then ran it through the Subtles 3D embossing folder.
On a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock stamp the sentiment “you’re the best” using Momento ink I then used paper snips to cut around the sentiment I then glued the sentiment onto your Smoky Slate circle.
At this point you’re embossing paste will be dry, using dimensionals I adhered the lighthouse to your textured background I’ve glued the vellum piece to the background tucked behind the lighthouse, glue your sentiment onto your Vellum circle.
I now glued your top layer onto your Smoky Slate card stock, added some Whisper White Bakers Twine to the left-hand side with a bow towards the top. Now glue your Smoky Slate layer onto your card base. For an added touch, I have embellished the card with a few of the Basic Adhesive Backed sequins and the anchor from the Sail Away Trinkles.
Your card is now complete I hope you enjoyed today’s project!
